On this Saturday, the
First Baptist Church in downtown, Troy, organized a 3+1 program for all the
international students at Troy. Maybe you would ask what means “3+1”. That
means three international students and one American student go to an American
local family together for dinner.
My friends and I were
divided into the same group and another international student was a cute girl
from South Korea who majored in English as a graduate student. The American
girl named Kaylee who came from a small town went there with us. All of them
were very friendly and we had a lot of common topics even different backgrounds
and different nationalities.
That an American couple
was really great! They prepared delicious American food for us and talked many
things to us such as culture, studying, weather and some other things which
were interesting. At last, they gave us an excellent performance—playing the
guitar and singing an original song. What a talent couple!
That was a wonderful night
for us! The 3+1 program which has lasted several years was really worthy for
international students. It can not only make us learn about American culture,
but also could make friends with local people.
